A Fresh Start...and control tights!

We trust that it's not just us here, at Essex'ee Legs, who have over indulged over the festive season! After the whirlwind of turkey, yule log, pigs in blankets (I actually felt a little like one of these on the sofa yesterday nursing a sore head!) baileys, wine and champagne, a detox is desperately needed! So with a fridge filled with veg that I fully intend to blend and eat for dinner for at least a week, my plans for a fresh start have begun!

Until those extra pounds melt away, control top hosiery is my best friend! I also like to refresh my hosiery draw every January and have a refill of nylon essentials. Stars Underlines Best Shop Awards Ceremony 2013

Essex'ee Legs were so excited, and honoured, to be finalists for not just one, but two awards at this years prestigious Underline Magazine awards. All of the hard work that goes into running our online shop was recognised with nominations in the 'Best Specialist ETailer' and 'Best Hosiery Retailer' categories. Unfortunately we didn't win an award this year but we had a fabulous time at the bash...

Kris from breast cancer charity CoppaFeel made an extremely inspiring and heart-rending speech with such an important message - CHECK YOUR BOOBIES regularly, no matter what age you are! Kris was diagnosed with advanced stage four breast cancer in 2008 at the age of 23. Because of her young age her GP assumed the lump she found was hormonal and sent her away. With the lump still not gone six months later, Kris returned to her doctor and was told her shocking diagnosis. Just one month after her diagnosis, Kris made the brave and courageous decision to turn her shock and anger into something positive and the CoppaFeel Charity was born. Her mission is to encourage a generation to examine themselves regularly and make young people aware that cancer can happen to them, no matter what age. Kris and CoppaFeel campaign and fundraise relentlessly, and she was at the awards to tell us about their #BraHijack campaign. The aim is to get the lingerie world on board by sewing 'reminder to check' labels into every bra forever! With Very.co.uk and Curvy Kate sewing 'your care' instructions into their bras from 2014, the campaign is off to a fantastic start!

An awards ceremony would not have been complete without some slightly tipsy dancing :)
