So you already know about my parents having spontaneous ways, so I don't know why I was surprised by mums 50th birthday celebration plans. They went from looking at relaxing weekends in Santorini, to actually booking 4 nights in Las Vegas - land of lights, entertainment and fun (on a scale only Americans manage!)
Casinos, and hosiery was everywhere you looked. Mum was very impressed with the stockings, fishnets and pantyhose being worn by the show girls, waitresses and hotel staff.
In the casinos the waitresses wear a range of funky fashion tights and fishnets. The famously, spectacular burlesque extravaganza, showcases a fabulous array of elaborate show-girl costumes, complete with seamed stockings, suspender belts and patterned pantyhose. Brought into the mainstream of entertainment by the lovely Dita Von Teese...

The Pussycat Dolls got in on the act. They kidnapped the beautiful Carmen Electra, and also had their own run of burlesque shows in Sin City. Dancing their saucy over the knee socks off, the girls looked amazing in their fishnet hold ups and glitter tights.

Although they didn't see a burlesque show, I was a little shocked to discover that Dad had booked tickets to see Rihanna at the Mandalay Bay hotel! Normally a Radio 2 or Talk Sport listener, he sang 'shine bright like a diamond' every time I saw him for months :) The effects that Vegas has, had obviously got a hold of him early!
Rihanna tights are famous in their own right!

They had an unforgettable holiday with mum texting me updates such as 'At the piano bar at the Bellagio Hotel drinking cocktails, Ha!' and 'I can't get Dad to bed he's playing Roulette' and my personal favourite-
Me and my husband were also lucky enough to visit Vegas, at the end of a once in a lifetime trip travelling the world. If you ever get the chance to go, I would definitely recommend it to anyone. The excitement hits you as soon as you land in Vegas and doesn't leave you until it's time to bid farewell to it's magic... I was so sad to leave I cried all the way home!
