Two trends in one! Floral print and over the knee tights

With over knee hosiery gracing the legs of celebs and catwalk models too, lots of funky variations of over knee tights have emerged on the high street. My current favourites are the Jonathan Aston Daisy Over Knee Tights. The fashion tights have a beautifully elegant twist with an, on trend, floral daisy trim. As floral design is one of the biggest prints this Spring, Jonathan Aston have nailed two of the biggest looks, right now, in one beautiful design!

Cocktails and Afternoon Tea!



Anne received some amazing presents for her birthday this year and among them was an indulgent afternoon tea at the Hilton Park Lane. I was lucky enough to be her plus one and we had been looking forward to it for weeks. Had there not been a 30 degree heatwave last Thursday (not that we're complaining!!) Anne had planned to wear her dress with heels and Trasparenze Casting Tights, the angelic way of course!! If you recall my Angel or Devil blog about these flower tights, then you understand what I mean ;) So, although the weather did not permit hosiery, we had such a brilliant day, so I wanted to share it with you anyway...

As the weather reports were threatening that this was the last time we would see the sun until next spring, pre afternoon tea cocktails on Sushi Samba's roof top bar were a must.

After traumatising Anne by not warning her about the incredibly fast ascent up to the bar on the 38th floor, she was soon happy again. We sat down with our freshly mixed cocktail, taking in the stunning views of the London skyline.

With the highest outdoor terraces in London, the bar offers breathtaking views of the Gherkin, St Pauls Cathedral and the Thames to the west, plus the Olympic park and beyond to the east.

After shooting back down in the scenic lift, we headed over to Mayfair for our afternoon tea. This was no ordinary afternoon tea, it was a chocoholics afternoon tea... 

After champagne and sandwiches they wheeled out this tower of goodies.

It was chocolate heaven!

Chocolate chip scones with clotted cream and a light and fluffy chocolate spread, chocolate torte, mini muffins with gooey chocolate centers, macaroons, cheesecake and more...

Once we could move again we walked some of the calories off in Hyde Park.

A perfect end to a perfect day :)

Next on my wishlist for afternoon tea is the Sanderson Hotel. They invite you to 'tumble down the rabbit hole' and enjoy a mad hatters afternoon tea with all sorts of weird and wonderful surprises...

Shopped 'til we dropped! Jonathan Aston, Charnos, Levante new season!

Essex'ee Legs were invited along to view the new season styles from Jonathan Aston, Levante and Charnos. Dressed for the occasion in our heels and Jonathan Aston hosiery, off we trotted in the sunshine to the exclusive sneak peak in Cavendish Square, Oxford Street.

Inside was a treasure trove of gorgeous new prints and styles...

This made it very difficult to pick what we wanted to add to our growing, collection of hosiery. After much deliberation, over some delicious chocolate brownies, we finally made some decisions and began shopping!

We are now excitedly awaiting the arrival of a diverse range of funky print tights, unique fashion tights, delicate flower hold ups and over the knee tights, plus lace leggings, colour tights and more. The new collection will begin to arrive from December, with gorgeous new arrivals continuing through to March. Feast your eyes on some of the new designs...

Charnos have also designed a range of plus size tights and socks that we are very excited about. The new Xelence range is designed with both comfort and fashion in mind to flatter womens curves. The collection will be available in sizes 16 up to 32 and will be featured later in the blog, and available from our website as soon as we receive them!

Suspender Pantyhose and Carpe Diem!

The title proved to be the magic mix for mum! Carpe Diem just sums up Mum & Dads approach to life. Always taking the risk, moving onwards and upwards and making new adventures. The beginnings of mum’s online shop Essex’ee Legs was no different. It’s been inspiring to watch her tiny seed of an idea, flourish into an exciting online business that continues to grow. So, after a few years of dreaming and hankering after a little business to call her own Suspender Pantyhose is where it all began!!

Sparkly tights and fishnet stockings had been worn forever in show business, then in 2009 a new celeb trend emerged, 5 words - Lily Allen, mock suspender tights …

We were all hooked, Designers Gipsy, Pamela Mann and Leg Avenue all made their own unique versions of suspender hosiery…

The popularity of the mock suspender tights style triggered a flood of new and unique hosiery designs, that celebs wore everywhere. Fortunately Gipsy, Pamela Mann, Leg Avenue, and Jonathan Aston continue to make the gorgeous fashion tights accessible to us mere mortals too…

The love for this new abundance of different hosiery styles never died and Essex’ee Legs provides a wide range of fashion tights in amongst its beautiful collections.

With a new trend that seemed to be sticking around, mum recognised the potential for an online tights shop ranging from sizes 6-32, with international postage. Accessibility was important to her, as apart from the big flagship stores many of the high street collections were sparse, with few or none selling plus size tights. With the image of Lily wearing suspender pantyhose, providing that light bulb moment, and a certain TV show, set in our home town, providing inspiration for a catchy name for the website…
